Today started out early in the morning for us, registration, and tech for the cars. The weather in the morning was just cold, nothing else. I looked at my phone to see what weather was forecasted and it said “Wind Advisory, Gusts up to 60mph), and thats what happened. The wind was horrendous, blowing debris all over the track and gravel and dirt into the eyes of spectators.
There were little events going on everywhere around the Willow Springs complex: Drifting at Horse Thief Mile, Road racing on Big Willow, and a Porsche HPDE at the Streets. It was an amazing day (except for the wind) I took home a 3rd place today in the ITA class…not too shabby for a little kid.

The wind at the track was the worst that I had ever seen.
Saw this C6 Vette come off the trailer and was immediately drawn to it. Not to mention, it was tearing up the track like nothing.
I bet you have never seen a Ford Ranchero that looked this aggressive.
The Ford was sitting on what look like CCW’s and a new set of Good Year slicks.
In between qualifying and the race I took a little trip up to the Horse Thief Mile to check out some of the drifing.
When I was watching the drifting, I caught a glimpse of this beauty; a slammed Evo 10.
From the Porsche HPDE at the Streets
Teammate and friend Scott G. in a tube frame GT3 Rx7. Perif ported 13b puting out a clean 300hp. Surrounding the car, Dan and Max, some of the best mechanics around.
All the wind from the day blew huge couds of dirt into the air and onto the track.
By the end of the day, I had gotten a 3rd place in the race. And a good bit of contact from the race put another nice dent in my fender…
