This was going to be the first SCCA Majors race I would attend and I was very excited to participate in it. Although I knew going into the weekend that I wasn’t going to be very competitive, it would give me a little time to test the car out and get a little more experience. It was also going to be the last race before installing an aggressive street port 12a, adding a wide body kit, and switching to E Production. The weekend went pretty well except for the last race when my teammate and I had a bit of a meeting on the track. It was just a racing incident and I believe nobody was to blame. The damage wasn’t too bad: busted door, wheel, and possible the differential. Besides that, the weekend went off without a hitch, meeting some amazing people and seeing some of the coolest cars around.
Regarding the crash:
Wayne made a clean pass on my inside going into the Star Mazda turn. I tucked behind him and followed him through the apex of the turn. On the exit of the turn, his rear end got loose and he ran wide; trying to catch the rear end, he counter steered. I saw his car begin to spin and I knew I needed to try to get out of his way. I went to full track left but before I was clear of his spinning car, the right front corner of his car tagged the right side of my car and sent me spinning.
He says it’s my fault he spun himself and I say it was his fault. We both agreed to disagree. None the less, it was a racing incident and he is still a very good friend and teammate of mine and we wont let this little thing get in the way of any future races.

7’s Only, had some of the coolest things in the shop, including this SP racecar with a sequential shift 2.3 liter Mazda engine.

I had a little extra time between qualifying and the race so I skated around and fooled with different shutter speeds on the camera: this was the outcome.

The pits were filled with some amazing cars including this Z06. This car seemed like it drifted around every corner.

After day one of racing, there was an amazing BBQ, hosted by the WIllow Ranch. There were also free drinks to boot.

After I was hit, so much happened. I ended up in the middle of the track so I dorpped the clutch as fast as I could and got off the track, soon there after, the grass caught fire.
